Accenture plc (Ireland) intended to acquire Prion GmbH (Germany)

Accenture is buying Prion Group, a German consulting/systems integration firm specialising in Siemens product lifecycle management (PLM) software deployments. The company has 330 employees. Koen Deryckere, senior managing director with Accenture said: "With manufacturing companies spending as much as 25% of their revenues on innovation and product development, PLM can help them avoid investments in products that are either late to market or don't fully address customer requirements. The combination of PRION Groups PLM specialist skills and Accenture's industrialised delivery methodologies and global scale will help clients tackle the fragmented system and process landscape in the product development space, which many companies face today." Dr. Joseph Unger, managing partner of PRION Group, said: "The combined capabilities of PRION Group and Accenture will enable us to offer clients the full range of services needed to improve the critical processes that get products to market quicker and more efficiently. We will help tackle key pain points of PLM projects and support clients as they seek to reduce the cost of PLM activities while increasing the traceability of products and data transparency."

Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd. (Japan) acquired NuGrid Consulting Private Ltd (India)

Japan’s diversified consumer and business services provider Recruit Holdings Co Ltd is acquiring Mumbai-based NuGrid Consulting Pvt Ltd, one of the top local executive search firms, for an undisclosed amount, as per a company statement. NuGrid is owned by Suresh Ramarao and offers executive search services for department heads and senior management positions for a range of industries including manufacturing, healthcare, IT, infrastructure and real estate. This acquisition will help Recruit to strengthen its existing presence in India. It has been operating in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore under the RGF brand since 2011. Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd. provides recruiting service, bridal and wedding, education, automobile, housing and real estate, travel and hotel booking, restaurant, beauty salon, and school and learning information through magazines, Internet services, and events.

Certara, L.P. (USA) acquired Great Lakes Drug Development, Inc. (USA)

Certara, a provider of software and scientific consulting services to improve productivity and decision-making from drug discovery through drug development, announced that it has acquired drug development consulting firm Great Lakes Drug Development Inc., based in Brighton. Both companies possess expertise in pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic analysis, project management, and pharmacometric modeling and simulation. GLDD focuses on early development work, while Certara’s products and services span the entire drug development continuum. “This acquisition will enable us to leverage the significant synergies between Certara’s and GLDD’s business focus, experience, and culture, while expanding our customer base,” said Daniel Weiner, senior vice president and general manager at Certara. Certara offers a broad spectrum of software products and consulting services, spanning molecular discovery to clinical development, with special focus on supporting translational approaches to drug development. Great Lakes Drug Development provides strategic, operational and interim management support for early drug development projects.  

NIRAS A/S (Denmark) acquired Peter Fraenkel & Partners Ltd. (UK)

Peter Fraenkel and Partners Ltd, which has 20 employees and a 40-year track record of marine civil and coastal engineering, has been acquired by international engineering consulting company NIRAS. ”Our business areas within ports and marine structures are in growth. Conroy Ross Partners Limited (Canada) acquired Funnel Search Group (Canada)

The group, based at Abingdon in Oxfordshire, agreed to buy the entire share capital of HMA Land Services for a maximum consideration of £11.8m, which includes the repayment of £4m of debt. HMA provides consultancy and project management support to clients in the energy and utilities sectors such as those working on oil and gas pipeline development. The newly acquired company, which has its headquarters in Calgary, operates throughout Canada and has approximately 90 members of staff who will all remain with the business following the takeover. Alan Hearne, chief executive of RPS, said: "The acquisition of HMA marks a further step in the development of our North American business. "The pipeline development market is buoyant, with long-term projects that require the types of skills and experience which RPS delivers to its clients around the world."

NV5 Holdings, Inc. (USA) acquired Dunn Environmental, Inc. (USA)

NV5 Holdings, Inc., a provider of professional and technical engineering and consulting solutions, has acquired Dunn Environmental, Inc., which specialises in environmental and hydrogeology sciences in Northern California. Dunn Environmental was purchased with a combination of cash and stock and is expected to be immediately accretive to NV5 earnings based on its project pipeline and clientele. All Dunn Environmental staff and management have joined the NV5 team, including 25-year principal Patrick Dunn, M.S., P.G., C.Hg., who will continue to service their existing environmental client base and help grow the same vertical within NV5.
