Equiteq Advisors Limited ("Equiteq", "we", "us") are a data controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Laws (the Data Protection Act 1998 and from 25 May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation). This means that we are responsible for, and control the, processing of, your personal data.

Introduction

We want you to know that we respect the privacy of every individual whose personal data we collect and process, including individuals who visit our website at www.Equiteq.com website, complete our Contact Us form and all other individuals with whom we communicate by other means. This Privacy Policy explains the steps we take to ensure information about you is kept secure and confidential, and how and for what purposes we use such information.

What information do we collect and how do we use it?

At all starting global M&A advisor, the majority of personal information relates to individuals in their professional capacity (such as name, business telephone number and business email address), which is provided to us in the course, and in connection with our services. We may occasionally collect other personal information relating to individuals, such as personal email address. In any event, we are kept informed on your business activities, including by the information you have in your e-mail signature.

We may also use your personal information to contact you to notify you about our services, events, news or articles we think may be of interest to you. You also have the opportunity to unsubscribe from these mailings at any time. If you do not want us to keep in touch with you please e-mail us by contacting us on +44 (0)203 651 0600. If you receive any communications from us which are not connected with our business, please let us know immediately. If we correspond with you by e-mail, we ask you to check the settings on your e-mail application to ensure that you do not inadvertently send us your domain name and not your e -mail address. We will use your e-mail address only if you fill out the Contact Us form, ask to download our free marketing materials, such as contact you when your details are kept on file (including newsletter, company updates, Crescendo-related information, but not if you fill out the Contact form from our website), or if you submit any request to Equiteq, such as registering for Equiteq Growth Accelerator (EGA), asking to download our free information products, subscribing to our newsletters by filling out a form. When contacting us, it is your responsibility to use a non-work related e-mail address if you believe that your employer would not want us to keep in touch with you about your professional activities and news from Equiteq, including to provide the information you have requested. We do not collect any special categories of personal data.

Lawful grounds for the processing of personal data

Under the Data Protection Laws we need a lawful basis to collect and use your personal data. Our database contains mainly data about individuals solely in their business capacity, which is used for the purposes of our normal business activities. The lawful ground for the processing of your personal information is our legitimate interest in maintaining our business database, and promoting, running and managing our business.

If you are our client, or we are in other contractual relationship with you, we may rely upon rights to process your personal information in connection with that contractual relationship.

Security and disclosure

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers located in the United Kingdom. The data we collect may be transferred to and stored at a destination outside the United Kingdom. As far as long as we are aware it is associated with a business that is included in our database, and as long as we think it is relevant for that purpose, we will retain your personal data for as long as you are in no longer associated with a business that is included in our database, we may delete your data from our records, or update it accordingly.

right of access to personal data that we process about you, which includes the right to obtain confirmation as to whether or not we process any personal data concerning you and if we do to obtain a copy of the data, and certain other related information;

to request that we stop processing all or part of your personal data or to request erasure of your personal data in certain situations, for example if we no longer have any legal ground for processing your personal data, e.g. we no longer need it for our legitimate interests (as set out elsewhere);
to request the suspension of processing of your personal data you have provided to us, in a situation where you contest the accuracy of your data is being verified by us, or if we no longer need your data for our legitimate interests but we need to hold some of it for the purposes of legal proceedings; and
