Equiteq, a consulting sector M&A specialist, is pleased to announce the sale of Decision Strategies International (DSI) to Heidrick & Struggles (NASD: HSII).  Equiteq acted as exclusive financial advisor to DSI, a Philadelphia-based strategy and leadership advisory firm.

Founded in 1990 by Paul J. H. Schoemaker, DSI has advised some of the world’s best-known organizations, specializing in strategic planning and decision making in uncertain operating environments, leadership development, and talent strategy.

“The acquisition of DSI accelerates the growth of our Leadership Consulting platform with proven expertise and solutions to help our clients build the leadership capabilities they need to succeed in a volatile, fast-changing world,” said Tracy R. Wolstencroft, Heidrick & Struggles' President and Chief Executive Officer.

“We are excited to work alongside our new colleagues at Heidrick & Struggles in helping clients around the world embrace uncertainty and succeed with transformational leadership,” said Toomas H. Truumees, Senior Managing Partner, DSI.

David Jorgenson, Equiteq’s Global Head of M&A, commented, “Decision Strategies International has developed differentiated capabilities and a reputation as a trusted advisor to a global blue-chip client roster.  The combination of Heidrick & Struggles and DSI will create compelling new business opportunities and provide their clients access to a broader suite of complementary service offerings.  We thoroughly enjoyed working with the shareholders and partners of DSI and congratulate the entire Heidrick & Struggles team on this exciting milestone.”

Paul J.H. Schoemaker, DSI’s Founder and Executive Chairman, added, “We selected Equiteq for this important assignment because of their unique focus on the professional services sector and expertise in negotiating and structuring transactions in the space. We very much appreciate their guidance and their strong commitment to a successful outcome.”
