Equiteq's key findings:

1. M&A activity was strong in 2018, with rising deal volumes and robust reported valuations, despite equity market volatility in the second half of the year.

2. Segmental boundaries continue to blur as digital transformation disrupts both consulting firms and their clients.

3. We observed notable buyer demand for scarce capabilites across digital transformation consulting, advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence and innovation strategy.

4. There was a slight rise in participation in deal flow from private equity buyers that are supported by substanial levels of dry powder and strong new fundraisings.
