EQUITEQ ADVISES LIONPOINT GROUP ON ITS SALE TO ALPHA FMC

May 21, 2021

Equiteq is pleased to announce it has advised Lionpoint Group, an award-winning global technology enablement and operations advisory firm, on its sale to Alpha FMC, plc, a UK-AIM listed company (AIM. AFM).

Lionpoint Group specializes in providing operations transformation and technology enablement solutions to alternative asset markets, with domain expertise across private equity, real estate, infrastructure and private debt. They are a certified implementation partner of over 20 specialist private markets technologies and was awarded Europe’s Best Technology Advisory Firm Award for 2021 by Private Equity Wire. The Lionpoint Group team consists of more than 120 operations and technology consultants, spread across international offices in New York, Denver, London, Geneva and Sydney.

Quoted on the AIM of the London Stock Exchange, Alpha FMC is a leading global provider of specialist consultancy services to asset management, wealth management and insurance industries. With over 430 consultants across 12 offices spanning the UK (HQ), Europe, North America and Asia, they have the largest dedicated team in the industry and have provided consultancy services to over 400 clients.

The acquisition will help grow Alpha’s geographical reach, breadth of services to alternative investment managers, investors, and advisors, and range of clientele to include multi-strategy clients who combine traditional and alternative assets. By joining forces, both firms will complement each other’s capabilities as the line between alternative investment firms increasingly permeates retail investors and other traditional asset managers, dramatically reshaping client requirements.

Jonathan Balkin, Co-founder of Lionpoint Group said: “Together, Alpha and Lionpoint can provide more comprehensive and innovative data and technology solutions as the marketplace shifts to a multi-strategy approach to asset management.”

Regarding Equiteq’s role in the transaction, Nick Moore, Executive Director & Co-Founder of Lionpoint Group said: “We partnered with Equiteq based on their expertise in the consulting and digital transformation space. The Equiteq team guided us through the various complexities of the process and were instrumental in delivering an exceptional outcome for Lionpoint. We are extremely grateful for all the support Equiteq provided.”

Adam Tindall, Managing Director at Equiteq said: “Lionpoint have done an exceptional job at building a market-leading consulting and technology implementation firm on a global scale. We are delighted to have advised the Lionpoint team on the sale of the business to Alpha FMC and are certain the combined team will be highly successful.”
