A Look Inside Equiteq’s 2026 US Summer Internship Program

Our 2026 US Summer Internship Program kicked off in June, welcoming nine students into our Boston, Atlanta, and New York offices for 10 weeks of hands-on experience, live deal exposure, direct mentorship from analysts and associates, and an inside look at a career in M&A.

This year’s cohort spans schools including Emory University, Boston College, Dartmouth College, the University of Michigan, the University of Utah, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and UC Santa Barbara, studying finance, economics, and related fields.

At the 30-day mark, we asked our interns what had stood out so far and what they've enjoyed or appreciated most. Across offices, the same themes kept surfacing: close mentorship, early trust, and a steep but rewarding learning curve.

A New York intern credited the open, collaborative culture with helping her feel comfortable asking questions from day one, which she said accelerated her ability to get up to speed. An Atlanta intern pointed to a similarly supportive environment across the team, one that encourages interns to contribute to meaningful projects, rather than to simply observe.

Interns also pointed to how much they've learned in a short time. One New York intern described the learning curve as steep and the variety of work as constant, with every deliverable presenting a new opportunity to sharpen technical skills in PowerPoint, Excel, and financial analysis, as well as professional habits such as communication and attention to detail. A Boston intern echoed this, highlighting exposure to diverse clients and industries, as well as the small details that "can make or break a deal."

Beyond the technical grounding, several interns named their proximity to senior bankers and to the firm's transaction work as a highlight of the summer so far, from sitting in on client conversations to seeing firsthand how a deal comes together.

"We're honored to host this class," said Ellie Millar, People & Talent Associate at Equiteq. "Their enthusiasm and curiosity have carried through from our very first conversations on campus right into the program, and we're grateful to be part of their path into M&A and investment banking."

We have a busy schedule planned for the rest of the summer, and we look forward to continuing to work with and support this year's interns through to the end of the program. For those interested in future internship opportunities at Equiteq, keep an eye on our LinkedIn for updates.
