Tony leads business development and account management at Equiteq. Often the first point of contact for companies exploring growth or sale opportunities, he helps prospective clients understand how Equiteq can support them on their journey.
Clients usually approach Equiteq with a general idea of what they want to achieve—sometimes clearly defined, sometimes not. Tony excels at shaping those ideas into a focused set of value-creating objectives that guide a successful engagement. Once objectives and terms are agreed upon, he ensures that the delivery is executed with quality and consistency.
Tony began his career with 15 years at IBM, managing large accounts and sales. He later joined BT plc, where he expanded major client relationships in the Retail Financial Services sector. After a period in sales management, he became Head of Marketing for the sector, overseeing £500m in sales.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Tony pioneered a digital thought leadership strategy at BT, significantly increasing access to decision-makers and driving sales. In 2002, he founded and served as CEO of a BT-backed internet venture—an online CRM portal connecting buyers and sellers of consultancy and CRM solutions, which grew into a vibrant community of 110,000 members.
Tony launched his own internet consultancy for the professional services sector in 2004 and merged it into Equiteq in 2006.
